Hello everyone!Â
This year, I am delving into the exploration of various artistic directions, focusing particularly on the interplay between Gothic and hard surface elements, for a future project. Alongside this creative venture, I'm also aiming to enhance my 3D modeling and animation/mocap skills.
I will also focus exclusively on real-time rendering,
and keep the blog minimalist.
Concept 01 - À l'ombre du métal
The first concept I want to share with you marries the intricate Gothic style with the sleek precision of hard surface design, all while weaving in aspects of infiltration, cuz I am a huge fan of the genre.Â
To bring this concept to life, I used Blender for modeling the assets and relied on textures from Megascan. The characters, named "Dystopia Soldier", are from the marketplace and were created by Bugrimov Maksim. I also incorporated my own metahuman, animated using Animator and my iPhone. The soundtrack you will hear is a part of "Verboten" by Avery Alexander. Lastly, I've made the lighting and the montage of the project.
                Concept 02 - Patience
Here's concept number 02, this time, I focused on my MetaHuman (Medium settings 1k/2k) that I created with MetaHuman Animator. The body was created by Bugrimov Maksim. I'm still learning modeling and animation; the textures come from Quixel Megascan. The title of the music is "Apokalypsis Liturgy" by Monasterium Imperi. I also tested Krotos Studio for the SFX. I didn't specify, but the project is on UE5.3, in real-time, and with Lumen.
In this concept, I did a lot of tests with emissives (the blue lights), some difficulty reducing the noise, so I pushed the GI in cinematic and played with the post-process to try to maintain decent FPS. Thank you, and see you at the end of March for the next concept.
               Concept 03 - Extraction
Concept 03, I tried Cascadeur for the first time, really cool. I'd like to try creating more complex animations in the coming year. I animated the face with my iPhone and MetaHuman Animator, just like in Concept 02.Â
The character's body comes from the Unreal Marketplace, Cyber Assassin by Raka Sumadera. The other 3 characters come from Epic Games' Paragon. The voices I used for them are from Borderlands 2. The music: "Wushu Dolls" from Cyberpunk 2077. Still on UE 5.3.
